A Prayer Request from Rev. Albert Lam, Senior Pastor of CBCSD

The U.S. Presidential election on November 5 was completed in an atmosphere of peace and fairness, with the Republican candidate, Mr. Donald Trump, elected as the 47th President of the United States.

We previously urged brothers and sisters to pray for this election, asking God to appoint a suitable leader to guide the nation toward peace, stability, progress, and God’s favor over the next four years. However, this will not happen automatically.

Now that the election results are settled, our prayers should not stop. We must continue to pray for those in authority, that President-Elect Trump and his future leadership team will govern with righteousness and fairness, protect our nation, and administer justice against wrongdoings to become a country pleasing to God. I encourage all brothers and sisters to keep praying for the following:

  1. May God preserve unity within the church, and prevent divisions due to the election outcome. As citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven, let us maintain respect and love for, and unity with, one another.
  2. Pray that the Lord will help President-Elect Trump act with humility and reliance on God, conducting himself appropriately in speech and behavior, and earning the respect of the people.
  3. Pray that the Lord would grant wisdom, courage, and sound strategies to President-Elect Trump as he organizes his cabinet and appoints key officials, and that the appointed team members work together to bring peace and progress to the U.S. and the world.
  4. In these tense and precarious times, let us ask the Lord to give President-Elect Trump and the new government the insight needed to respond effectively, ensuring peace and safety for the American people and the world. May all Christian officials act in truth, seeking God’s guidance and intervention through prayer in all matters, that God may be glorified.
May our nation thrive and prosper through her reverence for God, and may our people, through faithfulness in Christ, be a blessing to all nations! Amen.
