Rev. Tim is from the suburbs of Boston, MA, where much of his identity and personal faith was shaped by growing up as an ethnic (Asian) and religious (Christian) minority. Into his teenage years he began to understand that centering a life around Jesus meant much more than just attending church and being a moral person—it is a new identity and changed values because of the historical events of Christ. Tim felt called to serve God in volunteer and then full-time church work. He double majored in Philosophy and Theology at Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL), and received his Masters of Divinity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (South Hamilton, MA). He is married to Mindy, who is from New Jersey, and they have three children. A lifelong Chinese church youth pastor, Tim served for 13 years in New Jersey, Boston, and L.A. before coming to Main Campus at the Chinese Bible Church of San Diego.
